Getting started
What do I need to begin?
A device on Android 8.0 or newer and an email address for one adult. The child needs neither: they sign in with a QR code you show them.
How long does setup take?
Usually one evening. Signing the adult up, adding a child with a QR code and creating the first task from the catalogue — three steps, a few taps each.
My child has no phone of their own. Does this still work?
Yes, but not as well. The point of the app is that the child sees the list themselves and marks the work done themselves. With one shared device the child's role turns into reporting to an adult, and half the effect is lost.
Does the app work without internet?
No. Family Agreements keeps the family's devices in sync over the network, so both the adult and the child need a connection. There is no full offline mode.
Is there a version for iPhone or for the browser?
Not yet — the app exists for Android only. Work on shared code that an iOS build could come from is underway, but promising a date would be dishonest.
Children and safety
Does a child need an email, a phone number or a Google account?
No. An adult creates the child's profile, and signing in happens with a QR code. The app asks a child for no email address, no phone number and no access to contacts.
Why does the app need the camera?
Only to scan the QR invitation code — when a child joins the family or re-authorises a device. The app records no video, saves no images and sends nothing from the camera to a server.
Can a child talk to strangers?
No. There are no chats, feeds, comments, friends or any way to see another family. Everything a child sees was created by the adults in their own family.
Are children compared with each other?
No. Rankings and leaderboards are deliberately absent. A child sees their own progress and the shared family goal — and not a single reason to compete with a sibling for a place in a list.
Can a child break something by accident?
A child's actions are bounded by their role: take a task, send it for review, request a reward. Creating and deleting tasks, changing reward prices and approving work is for adults only.
Points and rewards
Are points money?
No. Points exist only inside your family, cannot be cashed out or moved between families, and carry no monetary value. They are a way to record an agreement, not a currency.
Do points expire if they go unused?
No. There is no expiry, no burning down and no negative balance. That is a decision, not an omission: the app encourages taking part rather than punishing a pause.
Can I deduct points as a punishment?
No, there is no mechanism for taking points away "for behaviour". We deliberately left it out: the moment points become a punishment, an agreement turns into surveillance.
Who hands over the reward?
An adult. The app records that there are enough points and that a request was sent, but the trip to the movies and the extra hour of screen time happen in real life, not on a screen.
What is the family goal?
One shared plan for the whole family — a trip, an outing, a bigger purchase. Children contribute points voluntarily and watch the shared progress. It is the one place in the app where children's efforts add up instead of being compared.
Plans and payment
Is the free version a trial?
No. The free version does not end and does not turn into a pumpkin. There are limits on how many tasks and rewards can be active at once, but none of them are about time.
What does Family Pro add?
Several adults with roles, unlimited tasks and rewards, advanced repeat schedules, one task for several children at once, the complete event history and longer analytics periods. The detailed comparison is on the Family Pro page.
How do I subscribe and cancel?
Through Google Play. The app takes no payments itself and stores no payment details. Cancel in Google Play → Subscriptions; the period you already paid for runs to its end.
Does every adult need to buy Pro?
No. The subscription applies to the family: one adult buys it and the extra capabilities appear for everyone.
Data
What exactly does the app store?
The adult's email address, profile names and internal identifiers, tasks, rewards, point balances and the history of operations. The full list is in the Privacy Policy.
Are there ads or trackers?
No. The app carries no ad networks, does no tracking for advertising purposes and does not sell personal data.
How do I delete my account and data?
Write to [email protected] from the address the account is registered to. After verification the account and the associated family data will be removed.
What happens to the data if I stop using the app?
Data is stored as long as the family account exists. If the account is deleted, the associated family data is deleted with it.
